CALL4_Oct 7_Reflection

In this session, we have examined some tools to present and teach vocabulary, including Padlet, Quizlet and Bubbl.us. I found all the three tools very useful and user-friendly for my daily teaching.
Padlet can be used for revising previously-taught vocabulary items as a startup activity of a lesson in order to stimulate students’ previous knowledge. With visual aids such as pictures, it can also be used to introduce new vocabulary items to students in a very easy way. More than that, during class discussion, Padlet can also be used as a tool for students to contribute ideas to the whole class. Everyone can see one another’s ideas instantly and is able to respond so that they are constructing knowledge as a whole.
For Quizlet, I have tried it with my students and they just LOVE it! The flashcards are useful for them to learn and revise new words. The various game functions are particularly appealing to students. They can arouse interests and motivation as a class activity and after-class revision.

I will keep using them and make teaching and learning fun!
